Massaponax scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Colonial Forge, 59-30. At the time, the Eagles were ranked 24th in the state, while the Panthers were 72nd.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Massaponax, who took down 24th ranked Colonial Forge, 59-30. JAVONTE LATNEY ran for 193 yards in the win.
Eric Ludden's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. ALPHONZO TRICE threw for 53 yards and A. J. FORBES had 39 yards receiving. GUS LITTLE helped Massaponax's passing attack out by catching one ball for 14 yards.
Massaponax's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. TRICE has thrown for 403 yards and four touchdowns this season, while FORBES has 13 catches for 222 yards. LATNEY leads the league in rushing with 1192 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Riverbend takes on Bill Brown's team. At the moment, the Bears are in fifth, while the Eagles are in second.
JOEY FOSTER of the Panthers ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Colonial Forge last week. FOSTER's team topped the Eagles as he sprinted for 79 yards on the play and finished with 170 in all.
