The Landrum Cardinals made easy work of the High Point Academy Grizzlies on Tuesday and carried off a 17-3 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Landrum has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for High Point Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Landrum will challenge Polk County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. High Point Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Cardinals' contest: after the Cardinals face off against the Wolverines, they'll take on High Point Academy again at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
