Central Christian and Heritage are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Central Christian Crusaders will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Heritage Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Central Christian's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Lafayette Christian by a score of 47-37.
Among those leading the charge was Riley Clark, who scored 18 points along with 9 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Central Christian's points. Bayleigh Seymour was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 rebounds and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Heritage put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stratford Academy 51-22 at home. Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Stratford Academy is ranked 274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The losses dropped Central Christian to 2-2 and Lafayette Christian to 0-3.
Central Christian came up short against Heritage in their previous meeting back in January, falling 36-30. Can Central Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
