The Aberdeen Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Tumwater Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. Aberdeen is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Aberdeen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They snuck past Hoquiam with a 55-49 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Aberdeen's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while Hoquiam is ranked 112th).
Aberdeen found their leader in underclassman Jhacob Quezada, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Baylor Ainsworth was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tumwater unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 76-53 loss at the hands of Kelso.
Aberdeen's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Tumwater, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1.
Aberdeen took a serious blow against Tumwater in their previous matchup back in January, falling 67-23. Thankfully for Aberdeen, Luke Brewer (who scored 22 points along with five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
