Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Skates Past Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roosevelt). They blew past the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs, posting a 57-30 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Roughriders.

Leading Roosevelt to victory were Neveah Landrum and Carolina Alonso. Landrum posted 15 points along with eight steals and five boards, while Alonso dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. What's more, Landrum also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Simone Oesch was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Roosevelt was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Roosevelt's record now sits at 2-3. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Roosevelt won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Battle Ground at 11:10 a.m. on Monday. Roosevelt has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
