Basketball Recap: Staples Triumphs

Staples won the last time they faced Ludlowe, and Chloe Smith did her part to make sure it happened again. The Staples Wreckers came out on top against the Ludlowe Falcons by a score of 55-46 on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last four games she's played.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Mcbean, who posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. That was a full 37% of Ludlowe's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kate Cimador, who put up 18 points.

Staples now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Ludlowe, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-6.

Staples has already played their next game (against Trumbull), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ludlowe will head out on the road to challenge Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ludlowe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
