The Lake Havasu Knights lost against the Mohave Accelerated Patriots back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lake Havasu took a hard 33-14 fall against Mohave Accelerated. While losing is never fun, Lake Havasu can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Mohave Accelerated is ranked 16th).
Lake Havasu got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Lexi Tuinstra and
Miley Stepp, who each put up four points.
Mohave Accelerated found their leader in underclassman Megan Jones, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Mohave Accelerated's points. Hazel Mae Barnett was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 3 steals.
Lake Havasu has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 2-6 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Mohave Accelerated, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Lake Havasu will face off against Laughlin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mohave Accelerated's road trip will continue as they head out to face Kingman Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd.
