Village is 9-1 against Concordia Lutheran since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Village Vikings will be playing at home against the Concordia Lutheran Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Village focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
After a string of three wins, Village's good fortune finally ran out. They lost to Antonian Prep at home by a decisive 61-42 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Village in their matchups with Antonian Prep: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their loss, Village saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mila Rossini, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 50% of Village's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaniya Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Concordia Lutheran gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Incarnate Word Academy 62-25 at home. Given Concordia Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Incarnate Word Academy is ranked 1068th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Village's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8. As for Concordia Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
