Charles Henderson extended their postseason success on Friday against Eufaula. They blew past the Tigers 13-3. Considering the Trojans have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Wes Templin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Clay Johnson was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Kellen Stewart was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.
The win was the seventh in a row for Charles Henderson, bringing their record up to 22-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Eufaula, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-20.
