Meanwhile, Nogales was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 59-55 to Tucson High Magnet School. Nogales has struggled against Tucson High Magnet School recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The losing side was boosted by Andres Franco, who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Diego Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
