Softball Recap: Seminary Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Seminary had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hazlehurst Indians a 15-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Seminary pushed their record up to 6-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hazlehurst, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminary will venture away from home to take on Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Seminary knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Raleigh likes a good challenge. Hazlehurst will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jim Hill at 6:00 p.m. on March 17th.
