The Horace Mann UCLA Community Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 55.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They strolled past Foshay with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Horace Mann UCLA Community also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Derrick Boston, who scored 19 points. Boston is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Koree Riley, who scored 12 points.
Foshay's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peter Egwurube, who scored eight points along with nine blocks and seven rebounds. Egwurube has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 14 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shomare' Gray, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Horace Mann UCLA Community is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Foshay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
