Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Florence Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 35-21 loss to Pee Dee Academy. Florence Christian has struggled against Pee Dee Academy recently, as their match on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Florence Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emerson Poston dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Poston hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 29-28 to Wilson Hall.
Florence Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 21-7.
Florence Christian ended up a good deal behind Christian Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, losing 29-12. Can Florence Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
