Davidson Academy and Battle Ground Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. Battle Ground Academy relied on the efforts of Kaedyn Marable, who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Ethan Kellum, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. Locke Kennedy also helped out with an impressive 113 receiving yards.
Battle Ground Academy's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Kennedy and Arnett Hayes. Kennedy got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 86 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Battle Ground Academy was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 569 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nashville Christian only gained 440.
Davidson Academy's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Battle Ground Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Davidson Academy strolled past Battle Ground Academy in their previous matchup back in September of 2023 by a score of 43-26. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hayes, who picked up 242 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
