The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rocky Ford, who took down 197th ranked Rocky Ford, 13-12. Justin Dean ran for 79 yards and caught 1 passes for 10 yards during the win.
Fans got a thrill when Jacob Imber and Jonathan Maes connected against Limon. The longest such play in 1A South Central this season, the connection resulted in 55 yards.
Crowley County's dynamic duo of Herman Ross and Ryan Haynes proved tough for Calhan to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ross threw for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns and Haynes had 153 yards receiving.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Ross and Haynes proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Haynes was the best wideout in the league this week as Crowley County topped Calhan.
Ross put up the best numbers through the air as Brandon Roe's team defeated Clint Mitchell's team.
Imber provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Byers lost to the Badgers. He completed 14 passes for 234 yards and also ran for 15 yards. Imber's favorite target this week was Maes, who caught 3 passes for 75 yards.
Eloy Sandoval was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 171 yards on 24 carries as Burlington topped the Bulldogs. Martin Torres also contributed to the rushing game with 73 yards on the ground.
Leading 1A South Central in both passing and receiving yards, Crowley County's Ross and Haynes have proven to be a lethal combination. Ross has thrown for 493 yards this season, while Haynes has 17 catches for 336 yards. Calhan's Taylor Thoman leads the league in rushing yards with 373.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Limon takes on the Cougars. At the moment, Mike O'Dwyer's team is in first, while Burlington is in fifth.
Las Animas and the Meloneers played the closest game in the league this week, with Las Animas eventually emerging with a 13-12 victory. Dean in the win.
