The Immanuel Christian Crusaders will face off against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Immanuel Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Immanuel Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Trona as they made off with a 15-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Ava Blakie, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Holly Cosner, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Immanuel Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trona only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Rosamond entered their tilt with California City on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 20-19 W against the Ravens. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Roadrunners have posted against the Ravens since March 22, 2022.
Priscilla Ponce was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Alexis Rico was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Immanuel Christian pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Rosamond, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Rosamond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Immanuel Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Rosamond, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Immanuel Christian's sizable advantage in that area, the Roadrunners will need to find a way to close that gap.
