It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the Makos onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Cardinal Gibbons, who have now won six matchups by three goals or more so far this season.
The win was the fourth in a row for Cardinal Gibbons, bringing their record for this year to 9-6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four matches. As for MAST Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3-3.
Cardinal Gibbons will head out on the road to challenge North Broward Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Gibbons knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully North Broward Prep likes a good challenge. MAST Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
