Softball Recap: Alleghany Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Alleghany had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Floyd County Buffaloes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Thursday.

Alleghany pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Floyd County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alleghany will challenge Wilson Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Green Hornets will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Floyd County, they will head out to challenge Radford at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
