The Owen Warhorses can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They breezed by NCSSM: Morganton on the road to the tune of 43-10. The victory was just what Owen needed coming off of a 75-44 loss in their prior game.
It was another big night for Ellie Martin, who scored 13 points. Mia Roland was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Owen's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-18. As for NCSSM: Morganton, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Owen will take on Avery County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Avery Countypresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Owen in North Carolina (Avery County is ranked 219th, while Owen is ranked 507th). As for NCSSM: Morganton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Draughn at 5:30 p.m. NCSSM: Morganton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last 15 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
