Baseball Recap: Mcintosh Extends Winning Streak to Three

McIntosh came out on top against Blount on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Demons blew past the Leopards 13-3. The win was nothing new for the Demons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brayden Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, McIntosh got a big performance out of Zach Alden, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Alden also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Isaac Weaver, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

McIntosh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blount only posted an OBP of .290.

McIntosh's record now sits at 4-8. As for Blount, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. McIntosh will square off against Murphy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.44 runs per game on average), something the Demons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Blount, they will challenge Williamson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
