Cascade Christian jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Cascade Christian moved up from No. 29 in the state all the way to No. 19 thanks to a 2-0 record over the past week. Led by manager John Bruce, the Challengers are ranked No. 1,950 in the nation with an overall record of 22-4.
St. Mary's's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only five hits and one walk, both of which led the league.
The Chieftains struck out a league-leading 138 times over the past week. Rogue River has struggled at the plate this season, leading the league with 169 strikeouts.
Seven batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Isaiah Luzny, who hit .833 by going 5-for-6.
Kyle Ferguson, who sits at the top of the league with a .507 batting average, finished the week at a blistering .625 clip for the Challengers.
Garrett Carpenter struck out nine in the Chieftains' 6-2 win over the Crusaders on May 14. He gave up two hits and two runs over six innings of work.
