Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayden Whitaker, who on his way to 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Whitaker a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmari Boxley, who to rack up 12 points and three steals.
Monacan was led to victory by Tai Bowler and Amare Cooper. Bowler en route to 25 points and seven rebounds, while Cooper on his way to 21 points along with six assists and four steals. With that strong performance, Cooper is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Jackson Bunn was another key player, putting up nine points and seven boards.
Courtland's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Monacan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
