The Trinity Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 55-32 loss to St. Joseph Academy might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while St. Joseph Academy is ranked 187th).
Kaylin Spor and Haylee Morelli certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Spor scored 14 points, while Morelli scored 12 points.
Kelly Cramer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. Joseph Academy, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Cramer has scored at least a third of St. Joseph Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taninah Manning, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Trinity Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for St. Joseph Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Trinity Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Flagler Palm Coast at 4:30 p.m. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Halifax Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Halifax Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
