Sadly, the Wellington Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They were beaten by Timnath 69-25 on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wellington in their matchups with Timnath: they've now lost four in a row.
Timnath found their leader in underclassman Luke Jacobson, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kyle Nelson, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Wellington's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Timnath, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will take on Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Strasburg will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Wellington surely won't give up without a fight. As for Timnath, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Estes Park at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th. Timnath is facing Estes Park at the right time seeing as Estes Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
