Liberty Charter had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-7  on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras  a   17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Kaiya McKay was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Briza Pelayo, who  went 1-for-3 with three  runs and two  RBI.
 Liberty Charter  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chula Vista Learning Community Charter only posted  an  OBP of  .300.
As for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record  this season. Having soared to a lofty 32  runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
 On Chula Vista Learning Community Charter's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ashley Vallejo, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases.
 Coincidentally, Liberty Charter and Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will both be playing Bayfront Charter the next time they take the field. The Cobras will head out to face the Sharks at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Lions will  host them  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
