Roosevelt and Washburn are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Roosevelt Teddies will head out on the road to take on the Washburn Millers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Even though Como Park scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Roosevelt still came out on top. Roosevelt narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Como Park 60-58.
Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Wren, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Wren also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cady Davis, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Washburn earned a 65-54 win over Duluth East on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Washburn.
Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Washburn, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.
Roosevelt was able to grind out a solid victory over Washburn in their previous matchup back in January, winning 47-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roosevelt since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
