They strolled past Gray's Creek with points to spare, taking the game 47-33. Given South View's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Gray's Creek is ranked 484th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayla Blue led the charge by scoring four points along with 12 rebounds and eight blocks. Blue is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zakiera Gaillard, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
South View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Gray's Creek, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
South View will head out on the road to challenge Cape Fear at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Fear has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 723 points over their last ten matches. As for Gray's Creek, they will be playing at home against Jack Britt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gray's Creek is coming into the matchup with four straight defeats at home, meaning Jack Britt will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
