Last Tuesday, Benzie Central strolled past Frankfort with points to spare, taking the game 53-39. Given Benzie Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Frankfort is ranked 308th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Leland was beaten by Glen Lake 70-25 on Tuesday.
Benzie Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Leland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Benzie Central against Leland in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 61-23 victory. Will Benzie Central repeat their success, or does Leland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
