The Patrick Henry Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Torrey Pines Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
Patrick Henry came up short against Steele Canyon on Friday, falling 12-6.
Adeline McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Whitley Swain was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Torrey Pines). They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 13-0 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Falcons with their most commanding win of the season.
Abby Flores and Reagan Cullivan were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Flores tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Cullivan pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Flores went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI, while Cullivan went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. Those three runs gave Flores a new career-high.
In other batting news, Raegan Hemmert was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Elle Costa also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Torrey Pines always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Patrick Henry has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8-1 record this season. As for Torrey Pines, their record is now 7-5-1.
Patrick Henry came out on top in a nail-biter against Torrey Pines in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, sneaking past 8-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
