The Comeaux Spartans on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Jennings Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Comeaux suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by New Iberia 57-18. Comeaux was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-8.
Meanwhile, Jennings pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 86-56 loss at the hands of Iowa. While losing is never fun, Jennings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Iowa is ranked sixth).
Comeaux now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Jennings, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season.
Comeaux beat Jennings 72-60 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Comeaux since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
