Oak Grove is 1-9 against Hueytown since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will face off against the Golden Gophers at 4:30 p.m. Oak Grove will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Monday, Oak Grove made easy work of Pleasant Grove and carried off a 23-5 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.

Oak Grove got a massive performance out of Rowan Wilson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three stolen bases gave Wilson a new career-high. Kami Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hueytown came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Vikings.
Bryanna Kemp made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Kemp was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, S Dyson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.
Hueytown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Oak Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Hueytown, their record is now 21-13.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Hueytown struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Grove suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Hueytown when the teams last played back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
