Killingly received a tough blow on Wednesday as they fell 45-29 to Norwich Free Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Killingly has scored all season.
Leading Norwich Free Academy to victory were Nevaeh Yorke and Emily Orcutt. Yorke scored seven points along with six steals, while Orcutt scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Yorke hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Brooke Stringer, who scored five points along with two steals.
Killingly now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Norwich Free Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Killingly will take on St. Bernard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
