Luke Mollohan and Dawson Kamppi made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Mollohan pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Kamppi pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Liberty Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. At bat, Mollohan got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Kamppi got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Kamppi a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Dyer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Fye, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Liberty Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison Christian only posted an OBP of .214.
Shekinah Christian came out on top against Madison Christian on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run sixth inning. The Flames were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Eagles. The Flames might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Aiden Nofziger and Jayce Yoder made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Nofziger tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Yoder pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nofziger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Nofziger went 1-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Yoder went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Max Kilzer was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Camden Miller, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Liberty Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Shekinah Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Shekinah Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Shekinah Christian in their previous meeting back in March.
