Karter Gonzalez and Co. Win Sixth in a Row
Hesston picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Karter Gonzalez. Gonzalez rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Hesston's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Gonzalez and Hesston will host Riley County on Friday.

Nash Wray Dazzles in Haven Victory
Nash Wray was a major factor in Haven's victory over Belle Plaine on Friday. Wray did his part (and then some), throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries for the 'W'.
Wray and Haven will face off against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Roadrunners, probably because Wray had a solid game then too: he threw for 121 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards on only seven carries. Braxton Creed's Big Game Leads Halstead over Ellsworth
Halstead found a leader in Braxton Creed as the team took down Ellsworth on Friday. Creed was dynamite, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 137 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Halstead's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Creed and Halstead will head out on the road to face off against Southeast of Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Taye Wilson continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.
This season, Wilson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 126.7 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns.

With the victory, Larned broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. Gardner and Larned will be playing in front of their home fans against Hoisington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
