The Sammamish RedHawks waltzed into their match Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Evergreen by a score of 59-49. That's another feather in the cap for Sammamish, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sammamish got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Barry Morrissette out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Rakin Showki, who scored 16 points.
Sammamish's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Evergreen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Sammamish will be home for the holidays to greet Rancho at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sammamish in their respective states (Rancho is ranked tenth in Nevada, while Sammamish is ranked 134th in Washington). As for Evergreen, they will head out on the road to face off against North Mason at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully North Mason focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday.
