They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Marlboro County 61-33 on the road. Given Crestwood's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Crestwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniya Williams, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last six times she's played. Javiah Martin was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Crestwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Marlboro County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestwood will take on the Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Marlboro County, they and the Bulldogs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Camden's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home while the Bulldogs have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
