After flying high against the Verbena Red Devils last Monday, the Maplesville Red Devils came back down to earth. Maplesville took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loachapoka on Tuesday. Maplesville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Loachapoka apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Maplesville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nehemiah McCary, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Wilson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Loachapoka found their leader in underclassman Jordan Tyner, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyner has scored all season. Donzion Chatmon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Maplesville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Loachapoka, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Verbena the next time they take the court. Loachapoka will host Verbena at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Maplesville will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
