The Nunamiut Amaguq's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Non Varsity Opponent 66-60. Nunamiut was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Nunamiut lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Hugo, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Hugo is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Justus Mulcahy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Nunamiut dropped their record down to 4-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 145-250-1 record this season.
Nunamiut didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-30 defeat vs. Non Varsity Opponent on the 10th. Non Varsity Opponent has also already played their next contest, a 54-44 defeat against Grace Academy on the 9th.
