The Marion Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-29 walloping at the hands of Cole. Marion has not had much luck with Cole recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Marion still got an impressive performance from Breelon Allen, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Allen hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kendra Ross, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cole to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abigail Levings, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Kamyra Childs was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Marion has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Cole, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-8.
Marion will head out on the road to challenge Nixon-Smiley at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Nixon-Smiley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Cole, they will be playing at home against Luling at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Luling is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
