The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Miami Beach Hi-Tides at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immaculata-La Salle is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Immaculata-La Salle proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Goleman 7-6.
Jeremy Fornos was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fornos was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Jonny Quintana was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianni Farach, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Miami Beach was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They came up short against Southridge, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for the Hi-Tides in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost four in a row.
Miami Beach also got a good showing from Jon Solowitz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Solowitz a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Miami Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lenonx Munoz, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Immaculata-La Salle's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miami Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Immaculata-La Salle was able to grind out a solid win over Miami Beach in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 3-0. Do the Royal Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hi-Tides turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
