Arrupe Jesuit ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-25 walloping at the hands of Denver West. While losing is never fun, Arrupe Jesuit can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Denver West is ranked 43rd).
Xavier Martinez was Arrupe Jesuit's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Jacob Dallas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Denver West, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dallas has scored at least 25% of Denver West's points. Jaheim Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Arrupe Jesuit bumped their record down to 1-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Denver West, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arrupe Jesuit will take on DSST: Cedar at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Allowing an average of 68 points per game, DSST: Cedar has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. As for Denver West, they will be playing at home against Lincoln at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
