The Beaver Beavers are taking a road trip to face off against the Grand County Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Beaver will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Beaver earned an 11-8 victory over Lincoln County.
Beaver let Lexi Hafen and Jerzee Beaumont run wild. Hafen went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Beaumont went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Danzee Bradshaw, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Grand County came up short against San Juan on Tuesday, falling 21-4. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bailey Althoff was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Beaver, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beaver has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like Grand County struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beaver beat Grand County 8-3 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
