Merrimack Valley - Division 1 recap November 13, 2013
Billerica Memorial scaled the state rankings by moving to 160 from 186 this week, the biggest jump in Merrimack Valley - Division 1. The Indians were able to move up by beating Newton South 42-20.
The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Andover's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. E J Perry threw for 107 and 2 touchdowns and Brandon Marti had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Oliver Eberth chipped in 75 yards. Christopher Nicholas helped Andover's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 45 yards.
The Golden Warriors' dynamic duo of Perry and Marti proved tough for Peabody Veterans Memorial to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nicholas helped Andover's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 45 yards.
Eberth was a passing and rushing force as Andover topped the Tanners. He completed 4 passes for 52 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 75 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Lowell's Brian Dolan and Jack Galvin have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Dolan has thrown for 1,162 yards this season, while Galvin has 41 catches for 557 yards. E J Perry's team's Jack Sylvester leads the league in rushing yards with 666.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Central Catholic takes on second place Lowell.
Chelmsford led Merrimack Valley - Division 1 in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on Lawrence.
