Basketball Recap: Easton Durden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Victory Christian Academy over Atmore Christian

If Victory Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 71-27 takedown of Harvest Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Victory Christian Academy Eagles took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atmore Christian Rams.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Durden, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. What's more, Durden also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January. Aiden Hays was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Atmore Christian, they moved to 1-4 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Victory Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Southern Christian at 6:00 p.m. Victory Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season. As for Atmore Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Hill Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
