The Wootton Patriots will be playing at home against the Magruder Colonels at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Wootton really took it to Watkins Mill for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-14 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Wootton, who have now won three matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Wootton haved a senior duo take command as Jake Kelley picked up 147 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Matthew Repie threw for 237 yards and four touchdowns. Everett Field got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Wootton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was D'Angelo Da Silva and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, Magruder beat Rockville 28-21 on Friday. The victory was just what Magruder needed coming off of a 42-19 loss in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Marcus Mccritty, who rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Wootton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Magruder, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Wootton beat Magruder 13-6 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Wootton repeat their success, or does Magruder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
