There's no place like home for the Stall Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 44-35 win over Cane Bay on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Stall also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Stall got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Makayla Waiters out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Lea Anderson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 13 rebounds.
Defeat or not, Cane Bay got some senior leadership from Zahnyra Young who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and Ella Hill who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Anai Custodio, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Cane Bay were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stall only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
Stall is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Cane Bay, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Stall will head out on the road to face off against Ashley Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cane Bay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Timberland at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Hopefully Timberland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday.
