After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fleming, the Flagler Panthers were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They came out on top against Gilpin County by a score of 45-32. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Flagler did.
Flagler's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydnie Berry, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her. KaCee Jo Saffer was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Gilpin County saw an underclassman step up: ELISE VINCENT scored eight points.
Gilpin County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Flagler will be home for the holidays to greet Deer Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Deer Trail will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Flagler is ranked 92nd). Gilpin County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on SkyView Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Hopefully SkyView Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday.
