Oxford suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Friday. They suffered a tough 80-54 defeat at the hands of Seymour.
Meanwhile, even though Wilby scored an imposing 65 points on Thursday, Crosby still came out on top. Crosby came out on top in a nail-biter against Wilby and snuck past 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Crosby has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Micah Blackman, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell Taylor, who scored 14 points.
Oxford bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their 13th straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Crosby, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Oxford took a serious blow against Crosby in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 94-53. Can Oxford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
