The Catholic Central Crusaders will head out to face off against the Oak Glen Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Catholic Central turned things around against Wellsville on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Tigers. The Crusaders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29th (when they won 13-3).

The team relied heavily on Matthew Sprochi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Meeks also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Oak Glen came out on top against East Liverpool on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fifth inning. The Golden Bears walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Potters. The game was the first time the Golden Bears have beaten the Potters on their field since April 28, 2021.
Colt Hissam made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hissam was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs. He has become a key player for Oak Glen: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, Josh Maher was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Christian Chappell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Oak Glen and bumps their season record up to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Catholic Central, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-8.
Everything went Catholic Central's way against Oak Glen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Catholic Central made off with a 16-3 victory. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Golden Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
