Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Catholic Academy Comes Up Short

Holy Cross Catholic Academy lost against All Saints Episcopal School last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Holy Cross Catholic Academy Mustangs came up short against the All Saints Episcopal School Patriots, falling 47-25. The Mustangs were down 35-13 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

All Saints Episcopal School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Brashear out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Brashear has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily White, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.

Holy Cross Catholic Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for All Saints Episcopal School, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross Catholic Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Jacinto Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for All Saints Episcopal School, they will take on Christ the King Cathedral at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
